10x what makes Skaleton unique

Many of the features in Skaleton in other products, both in app form as well as apps. Why Skaleton stands out is their unique combination and immediate interface. Nothing is tucked away deep down in menu's. But a touch away.

1. Every scale, your shape.

On Skaleton’s grid, a scale or chord keeps the same shape in every key, so you learn it once and play it anywhere. The grid adapts to you too: stacked octaves, fourths, fifths or guitar tuning, left-handed, upside-down and a couple of open tunings are all included. Guitarists feel at home, keyboard players find their logic, and beginners pick whatever makes sense to them.

2. All octaves. Finally.

Most synths and grooveboxes, like Elektron, Korg, etc offer tiny keys, octave buttons, one-octave step sequencers: included, keep your melodies in a small box. Skaleton puts the whole range under your fingers, so you can run up and down freely like on a real instrument and go all over the place.

3. Any key, one tap.

Touch a different root and you’re in a new key. The intervals stay where they are, so your hands don’t have to change anything. Hear a song, find the root and jam along within seconds, no music theory or complex knowledge on centuries old instruments needed.

4. Beyond major and minor.

50+ skales, each with its own mood: modes, jazz, exotic and everything in between. Switch and instantly hear and feel how the character of your music changes.

5. The world’s scales.

Authentic microtonal tunings: Maqam Rast, Bayati and Saba, Javanese Slendro and Thai 7-tone, with the real quarter-tone and neutral intervals, not Western approximations. Pitch bend lets you glide and hover like a voice or a string instrument. Which controller offers this?

6. Hardware power, app price.

Dedicated grid and expressive controllers easily cost hundreds of euros (even well over a thousand). Skaleton is €23.99, once: the full app, forever, with no subscription, no in-app purchases and no locked features. Okay, you do need an iPad. But you probably have one already.

7. Old All gear, new life.

Any synth, sampler or groovebox with MIDI gets a fresh, expressive interface. Connect to your synth, Mac or DAW, or play on its own with built-in sounds. No extra hardware needed.

8. No wrong notes.

Skale mode shows only the notes in your scale. Every pad you hit fits, so you can improvise without fear. Focus on the melody.

9. Two sticks, four axes.

Two joysticks for hands-on expression: modulate filters, vibrato or anything else you map, while you play.

10. Old-skool soul.

Tape wobble and flutter, courtesy of Spoelspoke, add lo-fi, analog-style character. It’s a modern controller with a vintage heart.
